Pricing and fees

What does Norly cost?

Norly takes 0% in platform fees. You only pay Stripe's standard processing fee — typically 1.4% + 1.80 kr. on Danish and European cards. That's the same you'd pay regardless of where you received the money. No subscription, no contract, no volume discount.

Why is Norly free?

We want to build trust with content creators first. Today the platform is free to use with 0% platform fee — you only pay Stripe's standard processing fee. We're considering paid extras later (e.g. advanced analytics or team accounts). If the pricing model changes, we'll give at least 60 days' notice before it takes effect. See the full breakdown on pricing.

Can the pricing model change?

It can change down the road — we don't commit to 0% forever. What we do commit to is transparency: if the pricing model changes, we'll give at least 60 days' notice before it takes effect, so both content creators and fans have time to decide what they want. As a fan, you can always cancel your support immediately — regardless of whether fees are introduced.

Money and payouts

Does Norly ever get access to my money?

Never. We use Stripe Connect, which sends money directly from the fan's card to your own Stripe account. We can see transaction reports (who supported with what), but we can't withdraw or move your money. Stripe sits between us and your money.

When do I get paid out?

Stripe pays out on the schedule you set in your Stripe account. The default is 7 days' delay on your first payout and then daily or weekly thereafter. You can change the frequency any time in the Stripe dashboard.

What happens if Norly shuts down?

Your fans, their payment details, and your Stripe account are all with Stripe — not with us. If Norly shuts down, you still have access to the Stripe dashboard and can cancel subscriptions or export data directly from there. We're a proxy on top of Stripe, not a money box.

Support models

Which support models can I offer?

Three models — you freely choose which ones to activate: monthly support (fixed amount every month), per release (automatic charge when you publish via RSS), and one-time support. Fans pick the model and the amount themselves. You don't set prices.

How does per-release support work?

You provide an RSS feed (YouTube channel, podcast feed, blog URL). We check it every hour. When a new release appears, we automatically charge your per-release supporters. Fans can set a monthly cap so it never exceeds their budget. If you publish 10 episodes in one day and the cap is 50 kr/month, charging stops at 50 kr.

Can fans choose their own amount?

Yes — and that's the whole point. As a creator, you only indicate which support models are active. Fans choose the amount themselves — from 5 kr upwards. That means a student can support with 25 kr/month while a higher earner supports with 500 kr/month from the same creator.

What if fans want to cancel?

They do it themselves at my subscriptions. No contact with you, no contact with us. Monthly support runs out in the already-paid period and doesn't renew. Per-release stops immediately.

Who can use Norly

Do I need a registered company?

No. Stripe Express accepts individuals — you can create an account as a person without registering a business. You provide your personal ID (equivalent to CPR in Denmark) instead of a company registration number, upload a passport or driving licence for the ID check, and link a personal bank account. The income is personal income and needs to be declared for tax purposes. If your income reaches around 50,000 kr/year, registering as a sole trader is typically recommended by the tax authority — but it's not a requirement from us.

Is Norly only for podcasters and YouTubers?

No. The per-release model requires an RSS feed, so it fits naturally for podcasters, YouTubers, bloggers, and newsletter writers. But monthly support and one-time support work for everyone: Instagram influencers, photographers, streamers, illustrators. Choose "Other" at sign-up if you don't have a feed. See who it's for on for creators.

Can I use Norly for Instagram?

Yes, but only for monthly support and one-time donations. Instagram doesn't have a public RSS feed (it's locked by Meta), so per-release doesn't work. In practice: share your Norly link in your bio as an alternative to your bank details or Buy Me a Coffee — it gives your followers one clickable destination.

Content and setup

Do I need to make extra bonus content?

No. Norly is built for content creators who want to be supported for the content they already publish. No tiers, no exclusive content, no membership club. If you want to offer something extra, you can link to Discord or a separate email list — but that's not part of Norly.

Which RSS feeds do you support?

Virtually all of them. Podcast hosts (Anchor, Acast, Buzzsprout, Podbean, Spotify for Podcasters), YouTube channels, Apple Podcasts (we find the feed via the iTunes API), Substack, WordPress, Ghost, Medium, generic blogs with link rel="alternate". If your feed doesn't work, write to us — we'll add it.

Can I change my page address later?

Yes, but it's a process — old links to your page will no longer work. Write to us if you need it. Better to pick a good name from the start.

Can I delete my account?

Yes, from your dashboard. Deletion cancels active support, anonymises your data, and removes your account. Previous transactions are kept (anonymously) for 5 years for accounting purposes — that's a legal requirement, not something we chose.

Security and GDPR

Where is my data stored?

On Supabase servers in the EU (Frankfurt). All your data is covered by GDPR. Read more in our privacy policy.

Can you see my card number?

No. Stripe stores card data on Stripe's servers — we only receive a token pointing to it. No card information ever touches Norly's servers.

Can I download everything you have about me?

Yes. As a fan at my subscriptions, as a creator from your dashboard. You get a JSON file with all your support history, payments, settings, and account info.

How long do you keep my data?

Active accounts: until you delete. Deleted accounts: we anonymise immediately. Financial data (transactions) is kept for 5 years anonymously due to bookkeeping law — that's a legal requirement.

Practical

How many creators are on Norly?

We're new. Right now the platform is in early phase with a handful of creators. We'd rather have a few creators using it well than many who don't. See a live example page at demo.

What if Stripe rejects my account?

You can still create your page, but you won't be able to receive payments. If Stripe rejects, they'll send you an email with the reason. It typically comes down to missing documentation. Most cases are resolved by uploading a passport or ID. Write to us if you're stuck.

Can businesses use Norly?

Yes. You can create a business Stripe account (Stripe Express supports both individuals and businesses). The business becomes the sender of receipts.

Where can I contact you?

Send an email to hey@norly.io. We read all emails personally — no support bots.
